The Sule Lamido University’s Librarian, Dr. Abdulkadir Ahmed Idris (CLN), accompanied by Mr. Nura Abdullahi, (Collection Development Librarian), along with the Head Librarian, Skyline University Nigeria, Mr. Kabiru Danladi Garba (CLN) were today pleased to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for improved collaboration of library services. By this, the two Universities have committed to expand their collaborations to other areas such as cooperation in research, culture and to support the quality of library services for both parties.
According to the MOU, all print (books and journal) and e-resources (e-books and e-journals) will be shared by both parties. “I am excited about this MOU which will benefit the many mutual stakeholders of Sule Lamido University and Skyline University Nigeria,” said Mr. Kabiru, SUN Head of Library. “The importance of openness and the free exchange of knowledge and services cannot be underestimated. It is indeed a central part of our MOU. I sincerely hoped that this first step with Skyline University Nigeria will lead to further collaborations,” Dr. Abdulakadir Ahmed Idris added.
Speaking during the MOU signing, the Vice Chancellor, Skyline University Nigeria, Prof. Sudhakar Kota, explained, “We have established so many MOUs with like-minded higher institutions of learning at both local and international levels. This is in line with the goal of building services and creating partnerships that allow libraries to work together for best knowledge provision”. He continued, “In the end, partnership like this one will open the doors for libraries to take the best approach in developing their services.”
