SUN to Empower 385 Youths with Over ₦1.5 Billion in Sponsorship and Scholarship for the Academic Year 2022/2023
To celebrate entering its 5th year of academic excellence in delivering quality education, Skyline University Nigeria has taken the initiative to award over 1.5 billion Naira worth of sponsorship/scholarship to 385 candidates in Nigeria. The initiative will empower 25 candidates in B.NSc. Nursing & 20 candidates each in 18 other Programmemes respectively for Academic Year 2022-2023. According to a statement by the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ajith Kumar V.V, 5 young women will be awarded 100% sponsorship and 20 young women will be awarded 50% sponsorship on tuition fees in B.NSc. Nursing Programmeme. The VC added that a 50% scholarship would be awarded to 20 candidates each in 18 other Programmemes. While reiterating the importance of the University’s fifth year in existence, Prof. Ajith stated that the empowerment of women and the youth in the community will impact positively not only in the areas of their corporate inclusion but will help to improve entrepreneurship representation as well as showcase their contribution to national development. He added that on completion of the Programmemes in B.NSc. Nursing, candidates will have the opportunity of job placements within and outside Nigeria. The Nursing sponsorship is housed under the Young Women Empowerment Initiative of the University, essentially for realizing the full potential of the economic, social, and professional development of young women in the society. Its emphasis is on the training to provide intra-personal skills, entrepreneurial skills, soft skills, and overall to provide a degree that fits effectively with the demands and challenges of the modern day. The scholarship is part of the University’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) offerings, aimed at attracting the best brains and underprivileged from society. The category of youth to benefit from this initiative are young men/women, who, following the completion of secondary school, stayed at home due to a lack of financial and educational prospects. This project will tap into their full potential by providing academic guidance for university admission, in marketable courses that will create a life-changing impact.
